How are you? I bet it has been lovely to see ALL your pupils again. How are they? How have they coped with homeschooling? 

I know my 3 children have enjoyed it to a certain degree. We have spent more time together, strengthened our family bond and gained more insight into becoming independent and intrinsic learners as well as focusing hugely on our wellbeing. Well of course! I am a yoga teacher! 🧘‍♀️ 

That said, my children were so excited to go back. Homeschooling has helped them to truly appreciate how lucky they are to have an education. They are eager to get back to see their friends and develop their social skills. 

However, I am fully aware that the lockdown experience has not been a positive experience for many children. Some are struggling with the negative impact of staying at home and maybe their needs have been neglected. Many of us are suffering the negative effects of this global pandemic and are feeling fear, anxiety, worry and overwhelm. 

YOGA covers ALL wellbeing. As any properly educated yogi or yogini knows, the postures are only a very small part of this.

So where is a good place to start? 

SUN SALUTATIONS 🌞 

To help you get started, I would like to share with you my ‘Let’s do our Sun Salutations’ song. Use it as an incredibly fun warm-up to your yoga class. 

This is TRIED AND TESTED. I guarantee, your pupils will LOVE IT 💕 From Year R to Year 6. Honestly, I wasn’t sure it would appeal to Year 5 and 6’s but they now ASK for it.
